Barcelona is one of the liveliest and most beautiful cities in the world, home to an eclectic mix of tradition and modernity. Many different cultures have left their mark on Barcelona, which results in a great artistic and cultural richness for you to discover.While in Barcelona you may enjoy a quiet stroll through the old Roman city, or exploring the narrow winding streets in the Medieval Quarter (Barrio Gótico). Also to be enjoyed are Barcelona’s architectural gems, take in the spaciousness of the modernist buildings, Gaudí’s architectural games or venture to the Olympic Village, created for Barcelona’s 1992 hosting of the Olympic Games, and see the modern lights. You will find all of this in a city on the sea.

Music is a vital part of the Barcelonese culture with the city playing host to several prominent music festivals throughout the year such as: Sónar, BAM-Independent Music Festival, Primavera Sound, International Jazz, World Music, Flamenco Festivals, and the likewise. In August of every year you will also find the international theatre and music festival Grec in Barcelona.

Barcelona is situated on the Mediterranean Sea and enjoys a pleasant warm climate. Only 15 minutes from the school are Barcelona’s beautiful beaches, head in the other direction from the school and you will run into the mountains hugging the outskirts of the city.

Also within easy reach of the city are Sitges, with sun drenched beaches and old-world Catalan charm, the beaches of the Costa Brava, along with the Pyrenee Mountains and the truly unique and beautiful Montserrat Mountains.
